    The Virtual Institute Summer Session 2005:
    Integrative Biology Research and Teaching
      Director: Aydin Tozeren, Ph.D., Drexel University

      The Virtual Institute for Professional Training was formed by the Greater Philadelphia Bioinformatics Alliance to create opportunities for new and continuing education and workforce development.

      The Institute's ongoing programs of workshops, training sessions, and seminars support the continuing education of biomedical and bioinformatics professionals from industry, graduate and advanced undergraduate students, and biomedical, computer science, mathematics, and engineering faculty.

      The Virtual Institute will host a series of week-long short courses
      from May 30 through July 15, 2005

      May 30 – June 3     Introduction to Molecular Systems Biology
      May 30 – June 3     Modeling in Systems Biology
      June 6 – June 10     Microarrays and Differential Gene Expression
      June 13 – June 17    Pharmacogenomics
      June 20 – June 24    Biostatistics, Clustering, and Classification
      June 27 – July 1     Bioinformatics Databases and Biomolecular Networks
      July 5 – July 8*       Integrative Biology Research in Philadelphia
      July 11 – July 15     Proteomics

      * This week will be open and free of charge to all participants
